What is persona and scenario?
User personas are fictional characters representing a set of user profiles from the target group. These personas when put in different scenarios help us to understand tasks from a user’s perspective. We can understand the limitations in the product through interruptions in task flow.
What is User Profile?
User Profiles are attributes of people who will use or buy your product. Creating user profiles narrows the field and defines user requirements in detail.
How can Personas help?
Personas are fictional characters carved out from the identified user profile. They help in understanding attitudes and goals of users. They also help in understanding scenarios in which users interact with the product that is being designed.
Understanding tasks from a user’s perspective is vital to creating a successful design. Inaccurate business assumptions about the end user and how they perform tasks result in websites, software and products that can baffle users and deter potential customers. We, at TVD, apply task analysis to fully understand user goals and create profiles to categorise prospective users in terms of their knowledge, motivation, experience and demographic factors.
